This week we share our three best tips for creating better AI prompts that elevate your collaboration with AI from good to fantastic:
✅ Use a structured framework, such as the PFSET method. Using a framework helps to make your prompts clear and consistent:
(P) Persona: Define what role AI should take on. (F) Format: Specify what type of response you need (list, paragraph, summary). (S) Scope: Clearly describe the extent and boundaries of the task. (E) Examples: Provide clear examples of desired outcomes. (T) Task: Describe exactly what AI should achieve.
Example: "Persona: Cybersecurity expert. Format: Bullet points. Scope: Trends for 2025.
Examples: Last year's cybersecurity trends. Task: List 5 key cybersecurity trends."
✅ Use XML tags for clarity: Wrap instructions or sections with XML-like tags for greater clarity.
Example: <intro> Provide a brief summary.</intro> <details> List key points with explanations. </details>
✅ Advanced tip. Use prompt stacking: Combine sequential prompts in one message, clearly separated, to guide the AI step by step. This technique enables deeper, structured results.
